The Cutstar diamond barrel is manufactured with the latest laser-welding technology which significantly improves the quality of the diamond barrel. With laser-welding, the
segments become virtually undetachable and the core barrel remains fully operational until the diamond coating is completely worn off. This means no more time wasted as a result of segment damage.
Due to the extremely high heat resistance of the laser weld, a breakdown of the cooling system will not affect the core barrel. The bit can withstand significantly higher temperatures compared to conventional core barrels. The diamond segments are attached with state of the art mechatronic laser welders, which position and attach the individual segments to the barrel with unprecedented precision.
